The Elsa from Lamoresca is a mighty impressive wine to ponder over as you sip with delight.
The blend is made up of just over half Nerello Mascalese, with additional splashes of Frappato and Nero d’Avola. The grapes see 3 weeks on skins, a year in concrete and a further 2 years in bottle.
It emerges like a butterfly from a cocoon, completely transformed into a beautifully juicy, herbal and lightly smokey red full of complexity and a savoury finish.

“These Lamoresca wines are so often a bit mental, and kind of edgy, but gee I love them. Im thinking cherry pip, liquorice, dried herb, and a moody sort of blood orange amaro tang, and almond. The tannin is all pulverized stone, and while its quite sappy, it does deliver all sorts of bitter red and blue fruited flavour, with a slightly raisin juiciness to it and some malty richness. Its charismatic, and different, and for a change of pace theres nothing quite like Lamoresca.”
