The 2020 Quinta da Devesa Douro Tinto, a blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Barroca, is a delicious entry point into the renowned reds of Douro and Portugal.

Quinta da Devesa, a historic estate in the Douro region, was acquired by the Fortunato family in 1941. Situated at the junction of Baixo Corgo and Cima Corgo, the 30-hectare estate benefits from diverse sun exposures and optimal conditions for grape maturation.The grapes for thuis classic Portugese blend were hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel vats.

It has fruity aromas of crushed cassis, blackberries, and blueberries, with hints of flowers, black olives, liquorice, and cocoa. The palate is plush and well-balanced, featuring more juicy black fruits and subtle notes of oak, tobacco, and spices. Firm tannins and good acidity complete a very tidy little red blend.

A perfect match with grilled meats or a barbeque, and one of the better value Portugese reds we’ve seen in ages.
