Founded by Don and Jennifer Hartford in 1994, Hartford Family Winery is situated in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, known for its challenging vineyard sites.Sourced from the century-old Hartford Vineyard on Wood Road, this Zinfandel benefits from low-yielding vines and well-drained sandy loam soils. The vineyard’s organic and biodynamic practices enhance the wine’s complexity.

These 100-year-old vines produce only a few clusters of intensely flavored grapes, resulting in a wine of remarkable depth and personality.Fermented with native yeast and aged for 10 months in 100% French oak (42% new), the 2022 vintage offers aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, and allspice. The palate reveals black cherry flavors balanced by fennel and dried herbs, finishing with a spicy cinnamon note. Well-integrated tannins provide structure and length.
