Gruner Veltliner, or Gruner to its friends, has experienced something of a boom. And why not? With its lifted floral fragrances, ripe fruit and cleansing acid, it makes the perfect wine for so many Aussie dishes – from delicate chicken salads to fish and chips on the beach. It has amazing versatility, which is something we tend to look for in wines.

This will not disappoint. It’s fresh and approachable, but doesn’t sacrifice integrity. Poached apples come through on the nose, with wet slate and fresh stone fruit. The flavours are pretty much identical, with a touch of honey, and the palate is driven by a fresh texture.

Brilliant wine. An absolute winner.
