Tucked away in the cool, humid combe of Chteau-Chalon, the 2022 Les Dolomies Croix Sarrant Savagnin is a beauty from a tiny 0.3-hectare vineyard.
Surrounded by lush, biodiverse forests, this special plot on limestone-rich marl has been sustainably farmed without chemicals since Cline Gormally took over in 2012. Cline, with her husband Steve, tends to the land using biodynamic principles, horse ploughing, and natural compost, embodying a deep respect for nature.
The vineyard’s stony terroir and iridescent marls provide the perfect environment for the Savagnin grapes, producing a wine with jolting acidity and a dense, textured mouthfeel. Expect aromas and flavours of stone fruits, vanilla bean, and fresh almond, with a salivating bitter finish that lingers beautifully. Oyster shell salinity and wet limestone notes add freshness and complexity.
Just 1,500 bottles produced for the globe and only a few available here, this Jura Savagnin is truly a treasure!

“Scents of lemon balm, ginger, sea spray and dried apple. Nice one. Some fino there? Sure. Theres a distinctly light weight feel to this wine but a curious plushness too it sits in two zones. Theres more apple, fino sherry, apple, quince and lemon going on. But in all that an insane harmony and length. Super styling. Finesse here.”
