As the first Albarino produced in South Africa, this wine reflects the Newton Johnson family’s dedication to exploring and perfecting new varietals in the unique terroir of the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.

Sourced from three vineyards on north and south-facing slopes at altitudes of 250-300 meters, the vines benefit from the region’s cool, maritime climate and granite-rich soils. Handpicked and meticulously sorted, the grapes undergo whole bunch pressing, with the juice then fermenting spontaneously in a mix of concrete eggs, stainless steel, and old foudre.

It has an opulent bouquet of ripe limes, tangy nectarine, and quince, softened by a mealy beeswax character. The palate is vibrant and textured, with succulent fruit flavours balanced by refreshing acidity, culminating in a long, crisp finish.

A beautiful match with seafood or light salads, or great on its own if looking for something deliciously different!
