Estate-grown Semillon and Riesling make up this bright and hazy skin-contact blend. Back to Basics Skin Contact is a vibrant blend of estate-grown Semillon (51%) and Riesling (49%).

Grown using organic and biodynamic practices on the Heysen Estate, this wine undergoes gentle extraction of phenolic molecules by spending 10 days on skins, similar to red wine production. The wine is aged for 5 months in neutral oak, adding complexity and mouthfeel. It’s slightly hazy due to the no fining and no filtration philosophy, allowing for a natural and authentic experience.

Aromas of peaches, sweet citrus and peels. The palate leads with minerality and tension, but opens up with some time in the glass. Each variety plays its roll, texture from the Semillon, and bright acidity from the Riesling. Loads of citrus tang, with lovely texture and phenolic grip.

This isnt a hard core orange wine, rather a bright textural wine with some nice grip in a cloudy frame.
