Rockburn has long been one of Central Otagos most dependable names for Pinot, and this 2023 release shows them in sharp form. Its sourced from their Parkburn and Gibbston vineyards, with each site bringing something different to the glass weight and plushness from the former, tension and spice from the latter.

The fruits all hand picked and handled gently wild ferments, a bit of whole bunch, then aged in mostly older French oak. Its a style thats full of character but doesnt try too hard. Theres depth and polish, sure, but it still drinks like Pinot should silky, aromatic, and effortlessly drinkable.

One for those who like their Central Otago Pinot with a bit of shape and generosity, without losing its cool-climate frame.
