The 2024 vintage across the Mosel gave Katharina Prm the ultimate canvas for her signature style. It was a proper cool, traditional European growing season that pushed harvest well into October. This deliberate, slow ripening delivered pristine fruit with an effortless composure and heaps of natural charm. There is zero heavy, forced alcohol here, just pure, unmanipulated regional definition.
While the estate’s single-vineyard grand crus get all the collectors fighting, the Bernkasteler Badstubea blend of stellar plots surrounding the town of Bernkastelis always the clever buy. The slate here yields a more immediate, open-knit personality that drinks beautifully without decades of cellar patience.
It hits with a clean, classic Prm reduction that lifts away to reveal crunchy green pears, citrus oils, and fresh garden botanicals. The Sptlese sweetness is generous but perfectly reined in by a long line of electric, driving acidity and a fine, stony mineral dustiness. It is low in alcohol, fluid, and brilliantly structured.
