It survived two World Wars, disappeared during Prohibition, and was reborn by Master Blender Colin Scott in 2007. Today it remains one of the most prestigious blended Scotch whiskies in the world each bottle individually numbered, bottled only twice a year, and built from a hand-selected blend of whiskies all aged a minimum of 25 years.
At the heart of every Chivas 25 is Strathisla single malt the oldest working distillery in the Scottish Highlands, founded in 1786. Strathisla has been the home distillery of the Chivas blend since 1950, and its fruity, honeyed character forms the backbone of this expression. Each cask used in the blend is individually nosed and hand-selected by the Chivas blending team before it is approved for inclusion. Awarded Double Gold at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and 95 points from Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible, where it was named Scotch Blend of the Year (18+ years) in 2010.
