Beneath the fruit lies a spine of minerality think crushed rocks and cool slate with an undercurrent of violet and a hint of cocoa. Elegant and yet a little wild to represent the people and the intention behind its creation.

Nalo Meli – a name that means Honeybee in Hawaiian, was born out of a collaboration betweenMelanie and David from Etrea Kripan Moreno Wines.In March 2025 they sought out to create awine that buzzes with life, and this is the fantastic result.

Melanie Hickman, originally from North America, moved to Rioja Alavesa after meeting her partner, David Sampedro. There, she combined her love of nature and wine by rescuing and producing single-vineyard wines from old vines. Focused on biodynamic farming and site-specific expression, her work is rooted in sustainability, precision, and a deep connection to the land.
