HIGHLAND PARK 15 YEAR OLD 44% 700ML

Highland Park’s 15 Year Old Viking Heart has been made using predominantly sherry-seasoned European and American casks, as well as a few refill casks, bottled at 44% ABV.

Well, I suppose we should say “ceramic decantered” rather than “bottled”, really. The decanters were made by Wade Ceramics, and inspired by the earthenware vessels that whisky would have been stored in centuries ago.

TASTING NOTES:

NOSE:
Brown sugar, orange oil, cinnamon, a soft, vegetal waft of peat.

TASTE:
Heather honey and smoke, with vanilla, treacle, and lemon in support.

FINISH:
Lasting spicy cinnamon and smoky embers.
