Mataburro is the project of natural winemakers Laurent Roger and Melissa Ingrand, based in Rivesaltes near Perpignan in Southern France. Despite the warm Mediterranean climate, their wines show remarkable freshness. The name Mataburromeaning Donkey Killercomes from a tragic local tale: when the railway opened through the vineyard in 1910, two donkeys were killed on its first day.
