TASTING NOTES

APPEARANCE

Medium-deep bright purple in the glass

AROMA

Appealing aromas of ripe plum and fragrant spice.

PALATE

Juicy, generous raspberry and plum, crunchy cranberry notes, herb and vanilla pod, with a hint of cedar oak. Lively acidity and fine tannins round out a truly delicious wine.

WINEMAKERS COMMENTS

Inspired by the wines of Sicily, Stephanie planted Mount Horrocks Nero dAvola vineyard in 2007.

CELLARING POTENTIAL

Cellar to medium term.

VINIFICATION

The grapes are harvested by hand, then cold-soaked prior to a nine day ferment. Daily plunging ensures ideal extraction until the wine is racked. Less new oak is used to maintain its juicy palate.

MATURATION

French oak barriques (20% new) for twelve months maturation prior to bottling
