Cracka Review
This top value little fortified is part of the Ramos ‘Discovery’ range, so it’s perfect for those who want to experience port for the first time. Made from tempranillo and the Portuguese native grape tinto cao, it’s a smooth style of port that isnt overly sweet and has a heap of fruit. Aromas of Christmas cake, toffee, figs and roasted nuts decorate the nose, meanwhile the palate is lush, unctuous and a touch sweet, with dried fruit flavours, licks of chocolate, and a decent spicy finish.
Winemaker’s NotesA tawny red with a topaz meniscus. The first aroma gives the impression of buoyancy and develops into a great smoothness acquired from having been matured in wood. In the mouth, it feels light, warm and very soft as a result of its ageing. This adolescent is a mature and fruity Port with a complex and delicate character. Its finish is perfectly balanced, giving it a flavour-some delicateness.
