Teeling Blackpitts Peated Irish Whiskey 700ML

Teeling Blackpittsis a triple distilled peated single malt, making it an unconventional yet specifically Irish style. It is named after the old Blackpitts area behind the distillery in The Liberties neighborhood of Dublin.

Each step of distillation lowers the phenol level, so they had to start with the highest ppm malt they could get (55 ppm, from Speyside). It turns out it was reduced more than expected (down to 15 ppm), but then again, the peaty side slowly returned with aging.

The combination of the age-old malting process of using smoke from peat to dry the malted barley combined with the triple distillation in our Dublin distillery produces a unique Teeling Whiskey. A flavor unlike any other, designed for the boldest palates, Blackpitts is truly unconventional Irish whiskey at its finest.

An inviting nose where barbeque smoke and cloves are intermingled with fresh notes of butterscotch and orange peel.

On the pallet, a fascinating blend of Applewood smoke, honey, and allspice are married with stewed pears and fresh grilled pineapple. This whiskey finishes with the return of a savory smoke over a lingering wood undertone, which combines delightfully with notes of salted caramel.

Teeling Whiskeyhas added to its list of accolades by claiming the honor ofWorlds Best Irish Whiskeyacross four categories at the 2021 World Whiskies Awards.
