Wormtub 12 Year Old Single Cask – Batch 6 57.2% 700ml

Back for a fifth batch, it’s the much-adored single cask edition of Wormtub 12 Year Old single malt! This Speysider finished its maturation in a single first-fill oloroso sherry hogshead before it was bottled at cask strength, a robust 58.2% ABV.

Worm tubs are a classic bit of distilling kit that can achieve distinctly characterful, heavy, robust flavour profiles. To ensure that remains the case here, this whisky has not undergone any chill-filtration and has no added colour, the vibrant hue you see here is all thanks to that glorious sherry cask!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sticky sweet sultanas, dense fruit cake, milk chocolate raisins and tangy marmalade, with hearty helpings of baking spice in tow.

Palate: Generous layers of rich, oily malt and nuts bring notes of cured meat, spiced fruit loaf, and dense sherried oak.

Finish: Rich layers of oak and sherry linger alongside meaty malt, currants, preserved walnuts, and a touch of savoury spice.
