Cessieux is a single parcel of Syrah in the Saint-Joseph appellation, just outside Mauves. Elegant and perfumed wine offering perfect ripeness and supple tannins. The wine was fermented with whole bunches and raised for 14 months in large old barrels. It is beautifully perfumed, with violets, black cherry and fine smoky spice, carried by signature Northern Rhne freshness.

Herv Souhaut founded Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet in 1993 in the tiny village of Arlebosc, on the northern edge of the Ardche, not far from Saint-Joseph. Working with old vines on steep granitic slopes, he has always farmed organically and vinified with a gentle, Burgundian touch. Whole bunches are macerated slowly, levage is in old oak or tank, and the wines are bottled without filtration and with minimal or no sulphur. His expressive yet transparent style has earned a devoted following around the world.
