Bright red berry fruit with gentle crisp tannins and fresh acidity. A fun fruity wine to enjoy on a midweek night can be served slightly chilled. Ponzichter is the old nickname for German-speaking winemakers in West Hungary, they used to plant beans between the vines and were nicknamed ‘BeanGrowers’ by their fellow Hungarians.
Franz and his family have vineyards on both sides of the Austria / Hungary border. They have been farming biodynamically since 2006 although winemaking can be traced in the Weninger family back to 1828.
